Geospatial Consultancy

We provide a wide range of professional geospatial surveying  services to meet your project needs from conception to completion

Bridging the knowledge gap

Traditionally when procuring Geospatial surveying services there is a good chance it was as simple as sending out a standard, trusted specification, based on two or three quotes from regular suppliers. This may well have served well in previous times, however a little knowledge can be dangerous given the rapid advancements in surveying technology & workflows in today’s world. Given these advancements in technologies it has helped to reduce in field survey time from what a few years ago would have been two weeks could now be done in a day without even setting up a tripod and instrument and what was a few hundred survey points captured in a day to now millions of points per second.

"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them"

Albert Einstein

To have a successful survey project, firstly it has to be well planned and all stages in the project identified in order to select the most suitable survey solution to balance detail captured, level of accuracy to produce the final deliverable by that full 3D model or 2D plans.

OmniSurveys team can draw on decades of experience to provide professional geospatial consultancy in preparation of our clients survey requirements be that on large multi-faceted or complex projects through to smaller technically challenging surveys.

By drawing on our experience we can in conjunction with our client's team advise on the most appropriate surveying technologies best suited to the project, identifying and mitigating any risks or difficulties in advance, thus giving our clients a more accurate expectation of programme, accuracy to match clients design team requirements. Also help taking into account the uses of other parties such as the construction contractors who will benefit from the data contained in the appropriate survey brief from the outset.

Not only do we actively encourage and invest in a culture of continuous innovation and development in our own people and quality systems, we do the same working in collaboration with our equipment suppliers and external agencies to ensure we remain at the forefront of geospatial surveying.

"Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success." – Henry Ford

To maximise our contribution to our client's projects we recognise the need to collaborate as part of the wider project team encompassing, architects, consulting engineers, project managers and planners.

Collaborating with our client's teams like this combined with our niche sector knowledge allows us to focus on the surveying details on site that are appropriate to the project, in turn saving the project not only time but potentially costs.

This becomes more and more relevant when specifying Digital Twin or Building Information Models, by collaborating with client's teams using a BIM execution plan we can establish LOD (Level Of Detail) required in advance which allows us to streamline the data capture, simplify 3D objects and deliver the final model.

Working collaboratively like this with clients and their teams, we have found our advice and partnering can assist in giving their future bids a competitive edge, thus winning more business with the right information from the outset.

Like to know more - CPD Events

We appreciate that all the different technologies and terminology is second nature us but to you our clients it may very well be confusing and daunting.

OmniSurveys offer educational "Lunch & Learn" one hour Continuing Professional Development (CPD) educational events to our clients

Our aim with these events to educate and keep our clients staff updated not only on specification changes but with the rapid developments within the geospatial world both in surveying technologies, data capture methods, workflows but how these can enhance quality of deliverables, time and costs.

At these events we explore the Geospatial surveying solutions we offer to give our clients and their staff a better understanding of the different types surveys we offer along with the technologies we use.

This can include:

  • Topographical Surveys
  • PAS128 - Underground Utility Mapping
  • Measured Building Surveys
  • Engineering Surveys
  • Laser Scanning
  • 3D Modelling & BIM Surveys
  • UAV Drone Surveys

Having carried out many of these events over the years we have found our clients and their teams have taken a lot away from them and thus resulted in better collaboration providing clients with more tailored surveys with better value through better knowledge.

Tailored events can be arranged on specific topics of interest such as PAS128 Utility Mapping, UAV Surveys, Laser Scanning & Modelling
