Site Engineering Control

• Establishing initial Primary and Secondary survey control networks are critical to any project. This guarantees the project is connected to a single trustworthy set of survey control stations throughout its duration. OmniSurveys can install and maintain these survey networks throughout the duration of a client’s project.

Monitoring

• Monitoring surveys are primarily used to locate and monitor changes in structures resulting from construction works or ground movement using robust and reliable information both during a projects construction phase and upon completion to monitor any movement. This is particularly important when works take place near or involve infrastructure like bridges, embankments, roads, railways, and buildings.

• The requirement for an efficient monitoring programme is necessary to prevent structural damage due to movements during construction operations or stability problems. Monitoring can reduce the risk or likelihood of a catastrophic infrastructure collapse, which lowers potential expenses of repair.

• Construction and asset monitoring give the client a clear picture of how the project is progressing and enable them to handle any movement, should it occur. Depending on the project and its requirements, we can implement a variety of monitoring systems.

• During our early engagement with the client, we will discuss our manual and automated monitoring solutions. This enables the client to choose the most suitable and economical solution.

• Manual Monitoring Solution
• Short-term projects typically involve manual monitoring, where targets are put in problem areas and readings are taken at agreed predetermined intervals. Within 24 hours, data is processed, findings reported and provided to the client. Prior to reporting, trigger levels will be discussed, agreed upon, and underlined in the findings. The benefit of this approach is that it requires less permanent installation of monitoring equipment and has a quicker setup time.

• Automated Monitoring Solution
• Typically advised for long-term projects or projects that can have access restrictions. In addition to the presentation software, which is an online solution, the project prestart meetings will also cover the project needs and related equipment. The monitoring software will be made available to key project team members, allowing them to monitor progress in real time. In the case a trigger level is violated, email or text alerts will be delivered as well as the trigger levels will be defined and visible. Once this process has been put in place, there is very little site presence required, and the software allows for quicker access to the results.
